"F" is for Family Day - June 22, Sunday

Wow - what a great event it was!

We had a Festive lineup of
1. Facts and Figuring by our Favorite Faculty - Professor Greg LaBlanc (on herd mentality in the subprime mortgage crisis), Professor Severin Borenstein (on gas prices), Bjorn Austraat (on hybrids) and Satadip Dutta (on Haas and Hemophilia)
2. Food – Top Dog, the mountain of beer and drinks
3. Fun for big and little people: arts & crafts, cotton candy, face painting, a magic show, balloon animals, souvenir caricatures (this was really popular!), jugglers (we have some great pictures)

4. Fundraising – with a raffle for the American Red Cross with generous prizes from our sponsors. Many thanks to Coca-Cola (Damian Marano), E&J Gallo (Mike Van Houten) and Old Navy (Vandana Bhavana)

5. Friends and Family – thanks so much for sharing them with us at Haas. (Thanks Renu Motwani for sharing your talented friend Avishek Panigrahi (aka Pani) - who played played and sang to the tunes of Beatles, Eagles, Guns and Roses!)

--------

Many thanks also to all volunteers for your amazing support and teamwork in making all the critical pieces click!

Haas EWMBA Program Office Tim Gaherty and Melissa Lincoln: you folks get the super trooper award for making our dream projects come true. Going along with a crazy idea, getting the space booked, getting the tents, setting up the sound system, getting the gifts, getting everyone fed. (And the award for bubbly party energy, onsite signs with colored sponsor logos and wrapping our raffle box goes to Melissa!)

Mandar Shinde: for making an idea happen, getting the mountain of beer, the time-sensitive ice-cream, rallying our volunteers, keeping people happy

Krupa Singampalli: for the art and craft tables, bringing in the children’s entertainment, getting the amazing caricaturist, the juggler, the balloon tanks etc.

Ken So: for getting the balloons, coordinating the raffle and the donations, getting talented wife A(Angela) to make onsite signs and draw on raffle boxes etc.

Josh Han: for coordinating the intellectual content!

Our faculty speakers Professor Greg La Blanc and Professor Severin Borenstein; and student speakers, Bjorn Austraat and Satadip Dutta
